(Installation)

In the original version of Connectivity celebrated Web 2.0 (the collective activity of creating and sharing information online) as a performance and room-sized installation. 'Building the internet' as a performance, Sara created a network of an impressive quantity of 'community contributed' material -donated vividly-colored string, thread, twine, and wire. Through a curator's internet research, this project was discovered online and presented internationally in 2008. Afterwards, and due to a communication/language error, the large installation arrived back in Chicago as a dense 3'-diameter mass. This new work uses the transformed original as a focal point for a condensed installation for a smaller space, whilst still evoking the expanses and patterns of online space.
